RAINBOWS Program begins October 24

RAINBOWS is a free program for children (K-12) who are dealing with major family changes such as divorce or death. The 12-session program offers healing and support to children who are facing issues that sometimes lead to anger, grief, confusion, feelings of responsibility or depression. The goals of the program are to help participants understand and express their feelings, build a stronger sense of self-esteem and direct their energy toward a healthy acceptance of the changes that have taken place. The groups will meet every other week on Tuesday evenings (6:30 – 7:30 pm) from October 24 through March.

A concurrent parent group is available for any interested parents to help them understand how they can best support their child(ren) as they navigate through the changes in their lives.

Understanding and empathetic volunteers, who participate in a formal RAINBOWS training program, are needed to act as facilitators for each small group. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator if you are interested.

There is no cost for the RAINBOWS program. However, space is limited in each group, so participants are encouraged to register early. To get more information, register, or learn about becoming a volunteer facilitator, contact OFS at 376-7774.
